More details have surfaced about the unfortunate murder of 16-year-old teen Antwan Ricks at the hands of his own brother, 13-year-old Jahmir Ricks last Sunday.
It seems that the two had been playing a sports video game before the argument took place. Antwan refused to turn over the controller to his younger brother even though the house rules agreed upon meant that he who lost should do so.
The argument degenerated into a brawl, and then into a fatal stabbing that left one of the brothers dead.
When the police arrived at the house shortly after being called into the scene, officers found Jahmir Ricks out front crying, "I stabbed my brother." An autopsy confirmed that Antwan did indeed die of a single stab wound - right in the heart. The murder weapon found at the scene of the crime was indeed a knife, with a black handle and a six-inch blade that was bent and appeared to be bloodstained.
A family spokesperson for the Ricks also reported that the family was "doing well" but Jahmir and Antwan's mother, Christine Ricks, did not want anyone to comment. Truly a sad day for videogaming. Updates as we get them.
