Pre Snap Recognition

what r some good ways to recognize what the d is going to do before the snap.. i try to motion to recognize man coverage.. but even when the d is in zone they still follow motion

When you motion them if its zone they sidestep slower than if its man coverage..on man the defenders body will turn.. also you'll find if you run 1 formation alot the strong safety will do different things depending on the type of coverage they are in, hopefully in 08 they will have a better system 4 disguising the d like they do on the current gen! hope that helps

I look for anybody creeping up to the line. I assume it's a blitz. Or if the safety takes a couple steps up, I know a db is blitzing and it's single coverage. Every time I come out I assume it's man coverage unless the defensive line up just doesn't look like it makes sense. But if the d comes out and there's a db standing over every receiver with 2 deep safeties, I automatically assume man under. Then I motion and hot route to create a one on one. Sometimes I'm wrong. Most of the time I'm right.

well one way to know if its man or zone or even a blitz, if u have 2 receivers on the left and theres 3 corners over there, its almost always a blitz, if theres 2 corners on 2 receivers and theyre parallel with the receiver, its always man, and if u have a 2 receiver bunch and theres a corner off to the side where there wud normally be a reciever if it wasnt a bunch, its zone
