I tried everything but I cant get a trade done. I tried trading a 1st rounder, I tried trading players, but nothing.
How do you trade and do you have any tips on it?

If you want a star QB like Peyton Manning then go to the Rosters and switch his position to WR.That makes him go from a 99 Overall to about a 31 Overall. That way you can just pick a team in Franchise Mode and trade him for one of your crappy players.

It doesnt work as good with Star Wide Recivers like Marvin Harrison or T.O.Because Star WRs can play a lot of Positions very well.Just change them to Half Backs and they go from a 95+ overall to about a 80 to 85 Overall. Not as much effective as QBs but makes it easier to trade for them.

I expect that in the NBA games because players cost too damn much for doing nothing. But KEEP MADDEN CLEAN! but cheat if u want.

Well that is one way to do it, also maybe the only way. Teams are not to fond of trading stars. Brady + 1st Round for Manning I believe doesn't work, so as you see teams are very reluctant to give away a star. And if you are trying to build a franchise it can be destructive to pay the price for that one player.

is it easier to get teams to part with top picks?

i have been keeping my eye on the bottom of the league and look to make a trade with two bottom feeders for their top picks. is that going to cost me an obscene amount of talent and picks? i was hoping to make the trades before the deadline, but forgot to do so. what do you think the top picks will cost me?

See my post in the "franchise tips" thread. It should be a decent starting point that will wok with all systems. PM me with ?'s.

Right before the deadline, trade some deadweight for some five to seven round picks and then trade up all of your picks to get the ones from the bottom team, if that wasn't confusing. However, it doesn't always work because a team can go ten and six after losing the first six games. Doesn't happen often, but it might. Or another team sinks to the bottom and the bottom team rises to mediocre.
