Scouting

I'm new to the game, and have a question about a function in the Franchise mode. My question, I suppose, is how to effectively use the scouting system, and what exactly its function is? Obviously it's supposed to give me useful information, but if I'm not sure how to read it or incorporate it. Obviously if I'm going to be winning the superbowl all the time, I'm going to need to be able to pick up some "under the radar" kind of guys, and I supposed that scouting would help me, but looking at the instruction manual and it's vague description, I've decided to turn to the internet instead. Any tips anyone? Thanks in advance.

i have the same problem but when the draft starts look at the projected round get the one with the highest projected round

scouting gives u more info about the person weekly. U already know his arm strenght, speed, and accuracvy
scouting tells u more about injury probabilities, who he will be like in the NFL, who the scouts remind them of, and a few others...

I use the "spider" chart in the upper right corner. You have to know what attributes are most important for each position. For instance, DB's I like Man Coverage vs. Zone Coverage. For OL's, I like Pass Block Strength and Footwork over Run Block because it is easier to improve an OL's Run Block attributes during training than it is to improve Pass Blocking attributes.

Make sure to get the guy that has the most potential (which means the guy will get better on his own) and has a good spider chart
I just drafted a QB out of the 2nd round and he is a 91
