I dont mean to sound cliche but it really depends on how you play. If you like to throw the ball a bunch, I would recommend the NE PB. They have like 16 different Gun formations. Most people who play Madden like to air it out so I would expect NE to have the most popular PB this year.

Me personally, Im going with the Jets. I like compression sets and bunches and the Jets have a good mix of this as well and some spread Gun formations but like I said, it depends on how you play.

Find a formation that fits your playing style.

It depends on the type of offense you run...do you prefer run or pass? Any specific formations or styles you like?

Also .. sportsgamer has some of the team's PB listed to view. Although NE's is not on there, you can look to see if you like any others.

I like to pass alot but i still want to make respect the run. Which playbooks are kinda balanced out where there are great passing formations but also great running ones too??

The Steelers have a pretty balanced PB. They have some new passing schemes but still have good smash mouth running plays. I think you should get the game and go into practice mode and work through everyone's PB to see what fits you. It takes a little while but it is worht it when you win because of the time you put in to gameplan.

I'm going to be using the Jags in 09...
I am a run 1st kind of guy than like to go out of the gun, but also pass out of the same running formations.

I used run & gun in 08, anyone have some good suggestions for 09?

Im assuming you are using the Jags team, not the Jags PB right?

If you are a run first kind of guy, the obvious PB would be Denver. They have a bunch of running schemes as well as compression style pass plays that disguise what you are doing. The bears have a run oriented PB too

My favorite PB to use is the INDY PB. It has all your basic formations with a few extras. I'm a passing player but I love running to open up the pass. It has the basic Stretches, Isos, Tosses, Dives, and what not. For my passing, plenty of Singleback variety and Gun variety. So if you want to make them respect the run while your a passing freak, this is one playbook I would recommend.

I started out with the Indy PB, but I realized that all of the singleback and gun formations with three WRs had basically the same plays in them, just in different looks. Plus, not a lot of I-formation and two back sets. Singleback big is good, but again, it's really what you like to run.

I never di care for the Indy PB because of all the PA that they run. Thihs year it might be better but in previous years, the nanos and even regular blitzing made it hard to run a PB with majority of PA.

I have to agree with what he said. It looks real nice at first but it makes the defense job very easy when you change sets and still run the same stuff...I think the Run'n'Gun is a great playbook. In response to what someone said about everyone will know your plays if you run this PB. They all knew them at least by december in last years game and it didn't matter and with the difference in the way the game plays this year I have to say I'm running abunch of plays that I didn't last year. Plus if you're smart enough and mix things up your opponent won't know any thing other then your formation until after you run the play.
