10-31-08,
Now, after playing the game for a while, and coming on here for 'Shiggles', I have noticed a bunch of people asking advice on how to do well on the 40YD Dash, Bench, etc... And their answers have been met with great responses, however, NONE of them helped!
So, here it is, plain and simple. YOU WILL NEVER RUN A 4.00 OR EVEN A 4.30 WITH A NEW SS!!!! Now, this is if you DONT use the level 4 ring position players with all legendary stats. You will have to work him up from the ground level. My first player was a FB, because you start out higher OVR. I got him up to 91 OVR with speed at 65, or 5.5 seconds in the 40YD. Bench was a 14 rep abortion, but I did get over 6000 on the RB challange. ALL OF THOSE STATS SUCK COMPARED TO A 99OVR PLAYER, I know, but then again what rookie enters the draft with stats better than a 6 time Pro-Bowler??
So, don't be alarmed if you watch the videos of these guys running a 3.98 40YD, I can do that in my sleep with a Scat Back, but try doing it with a 6'2" 255LB Fullback. When I hit 5.25 on the 40YD, I was the happiest person on the earth.
So dont worry about it. Boost your stats up between seasons, by season 5 or so, you will clearly be high 80's OVR or even mid 90's. Trade up on agents, demand a trade to a good team, etc etc.
And for all you guys who pretended to have big wang-doodles between your legs, making the new comers feel bad because they couldn't make a guy run 4 flat, eat it. Your cards have been pulled. Oh, and try playing it with a regular character for once, its more challanging. Unless you need 99OVR to actually win a game...
