View Full Version : Peyton Hillis the real deal?
What do you guys think of Hillis? After 3 starts now, he really looks like a legitimate HB for the Broncos. In fact, I think he has looked better and seems like a more versatile back than the others that have played for the Broncos this year. He is a downhill runner with a good deceptive burst, plus he can catch and block like a champ. This guy is not just a Fullback filling in. He really has potential to be a true starting RB.
He's been playing like a monster. Didn't he come into the league as a FB? Turning into a hybrid, like LeRon McClain, except better.
I don't want to dub him as the "next Allstott", but this guy does have RB skills. He didn't look like a RB the first gm he started, but he has gotten better and better the more he has played. He is a truly versaltile power running back. This guy's catching skills are underated.
hes a product of the system. remember reuben droughns? everyone was ready to crown him but what has he done since he left denver?
Denver's Running system >>>>
Hell, you can put me as the RB for Denver and id rack up 1,000 yards.. Not gonna lie tho, he was impressive.. And Mike Alstott is a fare comparison from what i saw..

I certainly can't argue with you on that. Denver's run zone blocking scheme has been one of the best for many years. However, many of Denver's running backs didn't have the full package. That's why Shanahan has had to mix and match for the past decade. For the moment, forget Hillis' running skills. This guy has A+ catching skills and is excellent in blitz pickup/pass protection. Isn't that enough for him to be considered a legitimate every down back? Only thing Hillis is missing from his game is the homerun speed. He doesn't need it though cause he's got a good enough burst to be effective.
Hillis can catch, run, and block...this is shaping up to be one hell of a battle next preseason for the starting job.
Are there any other white running backs (not fullbacks) currently playing?
Hillis is the best white RB in the league

:spin :thatsracist
yeah i think its just the zone blocking scheme denver uses but he doesnt seam to match well for the one cut and run. i love the way he plays though, old school smash mouth
he can catch and he is as smash mouth as it gets.
he is underrated on madden, no doubt
