View Full Version : De ss help!
Ok so I started a superstar as Jaguar's DE Derrick Harvey. So far the team is 3-0. I have 3 sacks, i think 9 tackles, and 1 field goal block (THNK TO VIPER). The defense has been bad. And the offense when I am not playing is horrible. David Garrard is like the second worst witha 60 QB rating. I need tips on using the DE so I can help my team.
Oh sorry I meant we're 0-3. Please help.
Lol almost sounds like the way we started out in the beginning of the year. I havent made a SS guy in DE position but my only guess is to use the LB and RB to get around the blockers to the QB. My only guess
If you wanna control your offense, go to:
Start Menu (during game) --> Settings --> Gameplay --> Team Control = User (not supersim)
You just have to suck it up, just like playing a real game. All that you can do, and should want to do, it play to the best of your abilities. DE can't control the whole defense, but you can shut down your side of the line and rush the QB's throws. If you play well than you can make your teammates play better too. Also, give them your influence points or use them to take away from the offenses ratings. If you can get the other QB to have about 20 accuracy than you should be good.
predict the pass and try to get on the weak side of the offense and youll get more sacks.I just got my first sack as an SS yesterday doing the exact same thing.also when i play as a DE i dont block anyone i back up a little bit and see if they are rushing it so i can get a tackle.
The good ol' fashioned bull rush.
Never fails.
lol Never fails...most of the time
First, of all I use the LB because Derrick Harvey is a finesse guy. Also I think the best advice was from
mm2mulvey. Your right, I will do good, get a good rating and change the next season.
By the, is practing godd to do since you get the influence points? Because I usually only have like 2 or 3 points to use in the ss menu all the time.
I don't do the practices since they don't really help out much. If you only go in to the game with 2 or 3 influence points, than why waste your time? You can get more influence points on a good kickoff return to start out the game. Plus, players can't get hurt in practice like real life, so what is the point?
Wait so your saying I shouldn't do it? Becuase all you said can go for both sides.
It is up to you if you want to do the practices. I don't because they bore me. They don't increase your ratings like the offseason workouts do. They just give you more influence points for the upcoming game. I am more worried about getting to game time and my performance against that week's opponent.
