Please tell me i'm seeing things? Al please tell me this is a typo on raiders.com. I just happened to surfing the raiders.com site and found this!!!! You cut the only person who can tackle but we still have Mike Huff on the roster?

Anyone else hear about Wilson being cut?

hahahaha o wow. i guess it makes sense because they paid $100 kajillion for javon walker and those other guys last year, including wilson. hes welcome to come to dever tho :D

he was released because of the way the deal was structured. people called al stupid for giving all that money to those players last year, but al knew that the way the deal was structured, he could lure the players there with a lot of money but still release them the next year if they didnt perform and get relief from the cap.

he's an average player, he can tackle, his coverage skills are decent... i watched him with the giants for years

I can see needing cap space before Feb 27....but not Wilson. Kwane Harris (OT)is due 7.1 million and he sucks cut him....

Looks like T.Branch will take his place or may even move Huff to SS. We'll see.

:hmm, looks like all those offseason acquisitions didn't work out too well, huh? Hall is gone, Wilson is gone, and Walker is definitely going to be gone. Maybe Al Davis will finally realize that getting a bunch of bums in FA won't fix his team.

I didn't like Hall or the Javon Walker pickup last year (you'll find many posts from me stating such)....thought it was stupid. We could have paid Nnamdi the money vs Hall. I did however like the Wilson pickup. We've had problems at safety for quite some time. Atleast Wilson knew how to tackle....he had 129 of them last year. Great at the much needed run support by a little spotty in pass coverage. I remember reading he was pissed when Hall got cut and even wanted to be released....so I guess if he doesn't want to be here then let him go...

Still don't like it....cutting him only saves 1.4million against the cap i believe.

Cutting him only saved 1.4 million against the cap (from what I've read) so the only thing I can think of is that he didn't want to be a Raider. After cutting Hall he showed his displeasure and he's also made some negative comments since. Long story short he was cut due to his attitude and the simple fact he didn't want to be a raider.

The search begins for another SS......Of all the offseason moves this is the one I'm bummed about.
