He didnt win it in the Big 10 b/c the sports writers try to recognize other players who are good, but arent the best with awards. So they basically knew that AJ is the best LB in the country and he was going to get that award (the biggest and most important for linebackers), so they "threw Posluzny a bone" by giving him a meaningless award. B/c ya, he's a good player, and deserved some recognition, but he aint no aj hawk.

Sports writers try to spread the love and recognize good players instead of giving every single award to the guy who truly is the best player. So they give the biggest and most important awards to the guys who deserve it and throw a few token awards at other players who are very good, but not quite good enough....
